Ignite the Curiosity and Leadership of Your Year 10 and 11 Students with Envirothon!
Envirothon is an engaging, real-world environmental competition designed for intellectually passionate and socially conscious students eager to make an impact. Teams of four from different schools engage deeply with a local environmental challenge, integrating Geography, Science, and Environmental Education in an authentic, hands-on learning experience.
In this dynamic program, students collaboratively conduct field research—interviewing key community stakeholders, collecting and analysing data, and observing environmental systems in action. They use critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they devise innovative, evidence-based solutions to pressing ecological issues.
Envirothon nurtures social-emotional growth by fostering teamwork, leadership, and effective communication. Students present their findings confidently to a panel of expert judges. Creativity thrives as students devise original strategies and approaches, linking curriculum knowledge with real-world application—transforming learning into meaningful environmental stewardship.
Envirothon is more than a competition, it challenges students to think deeply, collaborate authentically, and act boldly for a sustainable future.
This is a free event for Department of Education Schools.
Envirothon will be held next in 2026.
